The Leningrad Region Government
The Committee for Natural Resources and Environment Protection of the Leningrad Region is an executive power organ, which carries out within its executive discretion public management and implementation of powers of the Leningrad Region in the fields of environment protection, mineral resources management, forest and water management, administration of regional PAS, waste disposal, air quality control, protection and management of animal resources, safety of hydraulic structures and radiation and environmental safety control.

The Baltic Fund for Nature (BFN) of the St. Petersburg Naturalists' Society develops and implements international scientific and applied projects, as well as educational and informational programmes concerning nature protection in the Baltic Sea regions of the Russian Federation and in the North-West of Russia in general. BFN is a member of the World Conservation Union (IUCN) and the Coastal Union (EUCC), and the partner organization of WWF Russia and the WWF Baltic Programme.
