Maps of protected areas have been obtained by rasterization of the digital maps developed by the GIS Laboratory of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute. The digital maps were created with the use of ESRI software provided by the ESRI Conservation program and nomenclature sheets of the state topographic basis of 1:25 000 scale.

A set of digital maps of each territory includes, as a rule, topographic bases, land and forest use maps, functional zonation schemes and other topical materials. At present, complete sets are available only for some of the regional PAs, but the number of such "mapped" PAs is increasing. The new maps will also be published at this site.

For printing out the paper version of the map, you are advised to use 96 dpi resolution. In this way, the map printed will be to 1:25 000 scale.
